This person will work closely with WAVA`s Station Manager in developing new church relationships and clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in pastoral-ministry as a former pastor or ministry leader in a local church.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meeting face-to-face with Pastors and Church Leaders.
  • Introducing Pastors/churches to the many services offered to churches through WAVA Radio and WAVA.com.
  • Consulting and selling churches advertising and program time on WAVA AM and FM
  • Organizing/Managing WAVA`s "Church of the Week" campaign. Presenting WAVA at churches during Sunday morning services through oral speech, PowerPoint and/or video presentations 24x-36x per year.
  • Setting up follow-up meetings for Station Manager to meet with Pastors and Church Leaders.
  • Work with General Sales Manager (GSM) on developing commercial ad and ministry feature campaigns.
  • Sell Christian schools into our Half-Priced Tuition campaigns, as directed by WAVA GSM.

  • Increase attendance at WAVA Pastor Appreciation Events.
  • Increase WAVA`s Pastor`s e-blast mailing list.

REQUIREMENTS:
This person must have an excellent understanding and appreciation for the "Body of Christ", and be able to work with the many different streams/denominations of the Church. Full-Time Assistant Traffic Director needed to assist Traffic Manager with Traffic management duties for a cluster of radio stations in the Washington, DC metro area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Assistant role is focused on supporting the work of the Local Sales Manager and the Local Sales Team. Tasks include assisting Media Strategists by creating sales one-sheets and research for proposals and prospecting. The Assistant will work very closely with the Sales Manager in managing house accounts, managing aspects of the Christian School Tuition/Discount Shopping Club, and assisting the Sales Manager with any number of tasks that serve the local team.  At times the Sales Assistant will also do sales related tasks for the General Manager, including creating sale one-sheets for SMR and National Ministry clients. The Sales Assistant will assist in updating the radio station website with client related graphics or edits to existing content. They will act as a liaison between the radio stations and outside sales-related vendors, such as our 3rd party digital product providers. The Sales Assistant will have cover the main Receptionist duties for approximately 90 minutes every day, for lunch and other breaks, and will act as the main back-up for the Receptionist when they are out. The Sales Assistant may also sell and service their own client accounts, under the direction of the Local Sales Manager.

Salem Media Group in Washington, DC is looking for a Full-Time Operations Manager for its cluster of radio stations in Arlington, Virginia.  This individual will oversee the on-air programming operations for this market, reporting to the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and oversight in the execution of an excellent on-air sound and imaging for the stations, with a goal of growing audience engagement and response for our clients.
Ensure compliance with FCC rules and regulations and Salem Media Group policies.  
Be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and scheduling of programming personnel.
Work with other department heads to create and fine-tune interaction between the programming team members and other departments of the radio station.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Must operate standard broadcast console, including “faders” or “pots.”

·          Protect the company’s F-C-C license, successfully execute E-A-S tests, log transmitter readings, raise and lower power and follow regulations and policies under the direction of the Chief Operator.

·          Able to read and follow program logs and play programs, spots and station identification’s for multiple stations.

·          Ability to record commercials as well as live and pre-recorded production programming.

·         Support other staff members with any needed concerns.

·         Work with morning show host as needed.

·         Be familiar with the Rivendell Automation  system
