REQUIREMENTS:

This position has an expectation of being available in the event of equipment malfunction requiring emergency repairs. As this position will be assisting the RF team, requires the ability to climb towers up to 180` ft. using best safety practices. Tower climbing safety training will be provided.

Traffic Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the daily preparation of the commercial/program log including log editing and commercial spot placement so as to maximize station revenue and minimize loss, and performing continuity duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On a daily basis, place spots on logs by maximizing commercial inventory following philosophies set forth by Director of Sales.
  • Review and audit day parts as far into the future as possible.
  • Responsible for daily preparation of the program/commercial log using prescribed broadcast software.
  • Edit log so that it is error free.
  • Ensure each commercial spot placed does not have a product conflict, is airing within the correct time period and order/advertiser separation guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure program information is accurate and specific conditions are met.
  • Communicate inventory problems to the Traffic Manager.
  • Create programming formats in a timely manner and enter new program information into system based on program orders received.
  • Schedule formats onto each stations log.
  • Follow processes to alert account managers that advertisers may need to be moved due to program changes, change orders when spots meet new program criteria, or pre-empt spots when they do not.
  • Review master programming schedule and compares with logs.
  • Check the log formats with automation formats for breaks, barters, segments and timings when necessary.
  • Ensure that logs are 100% accurate and contain specific information including sponsorships, promos, tied events and IDs.
  • Assign episode numbers to programming on the logs from the schedule provided from the Programming Department.
  • Maintain inventory tree including maintaining existing inventory codes, making new codes and adding inventory code comments so managers and account managers know what programming is available to sell, sellout levels and rates for each program.
  • Communicate any problems to Traffic Manager.
  • Perform continuity duties, including processing production orders and coordinating production with the Programming Department.
  • Provide reports to the Sales Staff. Download and enter copy instructions for barter contracts.
  • Attend meetings as required or requested.
  • Assist and perform work for other Sales Assistants as needed, including covering breaks.
  • Ensure adequate administrative support at all times during the workday.
  • Seek out ways to expand current skills and abilities; take initiative to learn new tasks, duties, technology and equipment.
  • Offer ideas that would enhance or improve the way work is done.
  • Report to work on time and work established schedule/hours.
  • Ability to work other hours or alternate schedules as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree preferred.

RF Field Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

KRQE Media Group in Albuquerque, NM has an immediate opening for an RF Field Supervisor.  In this position, you will manage all the day to day activities in engineering as it relates to the RF on-air and delivery systems for KRQE, KBIM, KREZ, KASY, KWBQ & KRWB and their statewide distribution and translator network.  You will assume duties of Chief Operator of all stations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Unique Characteristics & Functions:  
Maintain complete knowledge of RF distribution throughout the state.  Manage RF engineering staff.  Oversee installation and maintenance of all RF broadcast equipment, which includes transmitters, translators and microwave.  Keep very careful records of each site and update accordingly, including photos.  A good working knowledge of studio operations is very helpful.  Work with vendors and other third parties for equipment ordering and installation at remote sites.  Travel 75%+ to remote sites in company vehicle and often work alone.  Create expense reports when necessary.  When not traveling, work with studio engineers on in-house projects as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
Extensive experience with digital broadcast equipment and systems including test equipment and trouble shooting. Experience must include extensive maintenance and operation of full power UHF and VHF TV transmitters and antenna systems, satellite receivers and uplinks, generators, microwave transmitters and receivers, fiber optic systems, signal distribution equipment, and associated terminal equipment. Familiarity with personal computers and video file servers. Knowledge of US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management policies. Ability to solve problems and exercise good judgement. Troubleshooting and test equipment familiarity. Ability to work alone.  Be on call 24/7.  Exceptional organizational skills. The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.

Education/Experience:   
A minimum of a two-year Associate Degree in electronic technology or equivalent, 4-year college degree preferred. FCC and /or SBE certification is preferred. Experience with CAD.    Experience with broadcast system design and project management. At least 5 years’ experience as a television maintenance technician and at least 3 years’ experience in a management capacity. Must have an acceptable driving record and a valid New Mexico driver license.

Essential Physical Requirements: 
Good vision and color perception. Good hearing.  The ability to work long hours on occasion.  Driving on and off road.  Varying periods of sitting, standing, walking and driving required.  Body movement/motions required including but not limited to climbing, using arms and hands continuously and walking on uneven surfaces.  Lifting requirements include continuous lifting, pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds.  Job requires indoor and outdoor work and may involve extremes with heat, cold and heights.

REELZChannel is looking for a Senior Designer for motion graphics, digital and print. Our ideal candidate has a strong graphic design foundation including the understanding of typography in digital media, color, composition and concepts and stays up to date with motion design trends and visual effects. RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will be responsible for the concept, design and execution of various motion graphics projects for on-air promo and sales presentations. Will be required to design and create graphics for social media, digital and print. Must be able to follow brand guidelines. Professional experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Cinema4D is essential. Knowledge of greenscreen keying, tracking and rotoscoping techniques are also a plus.

Projects may include: on-air promo and show graphics, brand elements, consumer and trade print/digital campaigns, web and social media graphics, and various in-house design needs.

  • Design, execute and deliver graphics for on-air, print and digital in various formats.
  • Handle multiple daily and long-term assignments with constantly shifting priorities.
  • Maintain graphics resource library, follow naming conventions and network folder structure.
  • Work well in team environment.
  • Report to work on time and work established schedule/hours. Ability to work other hours or alternate schedules as needed.
  • Performs other reasonable and relevant activities and functions as requested and required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years experience in a broadcast/cable/advertising design group.
  • A portfolio and/or reel that shows proven design, animation and motion graphics capabilities across broadcast, social, digital and print platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Expertise with keying greenscreen footage, tracking and rotoscoping
  • Cinema4D and Adobe InDesign is essential.
  • Self motivated, organized and solution driven thinking
  • Deadline oriented and works well under pressure and in a changing environment
