First News Anchor/Producer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WDAY-TV, the #1 station in Fargo, North Dakota, is looking for a First News Anchor/Producer.

WDAY is an Emmy award-winning, locally owned and operated station covering eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather, and sports. Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a hangout area complete with couches and televisions.

WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. We have alumni in many of the countrys top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.

Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota and borders Moorhead, Minnesota. The metro population is over 240,000, including the cities of Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota and Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

First News newscasts runs from 5am – 7am on Monday through Friday. The position would also require you to add content to radio newscasts and online articles. 

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate should have at least one year of anchoring experience as well as exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills. We are looking for a leader who feels comfortable working well with others under deadline pressure on multiple platforms.

Broadcast Engineer/Studio Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WDAY, Fargo, ND, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer/Studio Technician to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job responsibilities include installation, repair, and maintenance of state-of-the-art broadcast equipment.  You will work with High Definition video playout servers, cameras, and all other professional television studio equipment.  The candidate will also work with our remote production truck during live sports or news events. 

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team player. They must have strong computer, electronics, and troubleshooting skills as well as schedule flexibility to handle possible assignments of some weekends, and holidays.

WDAY, the #1 News station in Fargo, North Dakota is looking for a First News Producer to work in our multi-platform newsroom.  This is a morning newscast that airs from 5:00 am to 7:00 am Monday thru Friday, some Saturdays could be required.

As a producer, you will be responsible for producing our award-winning newscasts including writing scripts, editing copy, ordering graphics to fit stories, and coordinating live shots with directors.
