Social Media Marketing & Engagement Producer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WJZY-TV, the FOX Owned and Operated duopoly television station in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Social Media and Marketing Engagement Producer.  The ideal candidate is the primary liaison between Creative Services, Programming and News to promote WJZY & WMYT programming priorities and community outreach.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate is responsible for coordinating and creating content to promote our stations, including: engaging audiences, interacting with communities, increasing brand awareness and highlighting important programming initiatives.  Works with the VP of Creative Services, VP of News and Digital Content Manager to develop and implement strategies for all of the stations’ social media and digital platforms. Creates compelling and engaging social content and digital stories daily. Conceptualizes and produces high profile creative marketing material for digital and social.  Gathers social, news and promotional content in the field.  Actively engages in online communities and blogs to promote FOX 46 Charlotte, the station’s talent and website, driving traffic to the station’s website and programming.  Grows friends, followers and subscribers on social sites.  Performs duties of digital editor, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial newsgathering, as needed.  Facilitates the editorial gathering of compelling web material using information from various sources and contacts.  Identifies and responds to emerging social media and mobile trends to increase the stations’ reach. Partners with the Digital Content Manager to serve as a social media leader and training leader for the station, training on best practices for creation and publication of social media content and embedding a social mentality into our culture.  Works with editorial team to highlight comments and feedback for use on air, when appropriate.  Complies with all Station and Department policies, procedures and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.  

REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated fluency in social media and multimedia platform work required. Existing following on social media strongly preferred.  Ability to present digital and social content live on-air and online. Knowledge of internet publishing software, editing software and content management systems such as Adobe Premiere, iNews, Extreme Reach, Web CMS, Bit Central and Social Media Platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) Excellent broadcast, web and social writing.  Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment.  Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team. Ability to work a flexible schedule.  Bachelors’ degree preferred.  (2-4) years of previous social media marketing experience is required.

MMJ/Anchor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WJZY-TV, the FOX Owned and Operated duopoly television station in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Multimedia Journalist, with anchoring skills.  We need the total MMJ package: someone who can do their own hard news and breaking news morning live shots 3 days a week.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will need to be quick on your feet with a desire to beat the other stations each and every day. This MMJ also co-anchors and helps write and book Saturday and Sunday morning news show that is a mix of hard news and lifestyle interviews.  This MMJ will be required to have a strong and professional presence on social media, with a focus on promoting Fox 46 television news. FOX46 is a dynamic newsroom; part of the “newsroom of the future” movement. You will be working with 21st century newsgathering technology, operating as a self-contained and mobile content generator. This MMJ will have the opportunity to get attention for the right reasons and to Get Results for the community.  

REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience reporting news and 2 years’ anchoring is required.  Excellent communication, writing and grammar skills are required for both the broadcast and digital MMJ/Anchor platforms.  Must be willing to work weekends. A Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism required.  Some training will be provided, if needed. Must be able to lift and carry up to (50) pounds to complete essential job functions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WJZY-TV, the FOX Owned and Operated duopoly television station in  Charlotte, NC is seeking a Photojournalist with an eye to shoot, edit and gather sound from newsworthy events, locations or people for use in newscasts. aintain a clean driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position includes the following duties: Shoots and edits breaking stories, live shots and other news stories as assigned. Occasionally writes packages and/or assembles natural sound packages. Gathers news in the field independently. Assist in gathering and posting stories on-line and to air. Must have the ability to visually tell compelling stories. Operates video camera and audio equipment creatively in diverse conditions and at times under extreme deadlines. Assists Operations department with studio camera and floor management.  Operates all live technology (i.e. Live U, KA trucks, etc.). Drives and operates company vehicles in a safe and defensive manner.  This includes driving in heavy metropolitan traffic, at night and in bad weather. Edits videotape for playback for air. Operates microwave trucks. Maintains vehicle and news gathering equipment properly. Assist with newscasts outside the normal work schedule at time of severe weather conditions or breaking news. Meets all scheduling and broadcast deadlines. Must be involved in Social Media. Responsible for any and all equipment issued by FOX. Supports Local News Service as assigned. Has ability to work a flexible schedule. Comply with all Station and Department policies, procedures and guidelines related activities. Some in-studio camera duties required. REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on journalism and/or Communication preferred. Minimum of two years’ equivalent experience.  Knowledge of non-linear editing systems. Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WJZY-TV, the FOX owned and operated television station in Charlotte, NC is seeking a quick-thinking Associate Producer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily organization and writing of newscasts as assigned by Producers and/or Executive Producers.  Write copy that is fair, accurate and grammatically correct. View video tape and select appropriate pictures and interviews for broadcast as approved by news management.  Ability to recognize story inadequacies or missing information.  Work independently to find the necessary information to complete the story and give feedback to Producers if more resources are required to support the story using all available means (i.e. telephone, databases, computer archive searches, etc.) Work with field crews to manage stories, provide graphics, video and logistical support. Work closely with assignment desk to coordinate live shots and Reporter & Photojournalist assignments.  Maintain open communication with News director and all station personnel to efficiently, respectfully and professionally complete news assignments.  This includes monitoring the wire service to ascertain relevant stories for inclusion in newscasts. Attend and participate in editorial meetings.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Provide suggestions for news related stories and participate in post-production critiques.  Constantly move throughout the station to coordinate work requirements and news related activities.  Occasionally bends, stoops and crouches.  Constantly operates PC, using a keyboard, to complete required news items and related materials. Sits for extended periods of time in order to accomplish essential duties. Complies with all Station and Department policies, procedures and guidelines.  Perform other duties and special projects as needed and assigned by news management.  Bachelors’ degree in applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism, communications, or equivalent job experience is preferred.  One year of experience producing or newsgathering for broadcast at a commercial television station preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

WLOS/WMYA-TV is seeking an Accounts Receivable Credit Specialist to work in there credit hub at the Asheville, NC location. You will be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues, including collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, maintaining records and referring accounts to collection agencies.  This position will be an integral part of the credit hub and will provide assistance with accounts receivable functions for more than one television station.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Make collection calls

·        Prepare and maintain various reports

·        Maintain an accurate aging report

·        Maintain up-to-date records in system

·        Collection and allocation of payments

·        Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines

·        Reconciliation of accounts

·        Monitor client account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities

·        Follow established procedures for processing credit applications, adjustments, checks, etc.

·        Investigate and resolve customer queries

·        Communicate with internal personnel and clients via phone, email, mail or personally

·        Submit delinquent accounts to collections, as needed

·        Perform other related duties as required and assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

·        Must be proficient with Excel

·        Knowledge of general accounting principles

·        Broadcasting or media experience is preferred

·        Experience with a broadcast traffic system such as OSI or Wide Orbit is a plus

·        The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize and multitask, have a high level of attention to detail, and have excellent communication (both written and over the phone) skills
