Junior Account Executive

JOB DESCRIPTION:
WWLP-22News, (NBC), has a full-time opening for a Junior Account Executive.  The qualified candidate will be will spend 12 months learning how to comprehensively sell media solutions to one or more local/regional accounts in a geographic territory to achieve sales targets and maximize revenues. The goal of this position is to provide an individual 12 months to learn the skills necessary to be a successful account executive.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Principal Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Work in tandem with senior account executive(s) assisting them in executing and implementing campaigns.
  • Build out proposals and campaigns for senior accounts executives.
  • Input orders into trafficking systems
  • Manage traffic for campaigns on both TV and digital platforms.
  • Manage creative assets for campaigns
  • Build out proof of performance on campaigns.
  • Assist in day to day communication with clients
  • Monitor account receivables
  • Research, analyze and monitor for clients
  • Prospecting businesses
  • Learning the sales process from start to finish

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
* Strong oral, problem solving, communications, writing, negotiation and presentation skills. 
* Must be well organized, display a professional demeanor, exude high energy and show attention to detail. 
* Must be a confident, flexible, multi-tasker, and be able to work independently. 

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Bachelors degree preferred with an emphasis in Business/Marketing or Communications. Experience in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.  Experience in Marketing and advertising background preferred.

News Anchor/Reporter

JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB DESCRIPTION:  WWLP-22NEWS has a full-time News Anchor/ Reporter opening. Candidate will  serve as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.  

  • Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, mobile, etc.
  • Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily
  • Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots and stand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media platforms
  • Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
  • Gather and verify information regarding stories through interview, observation and research.
  • Build network of sources who supply information that allows the Company to stay ahead of its competitors
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education
  • (3) years television anchoring or reporting experience required
  • Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Understand importance of social media
  • Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
  • Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel

 Operate newsroom computer systems

REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands & Work Environment:


The News Anchor Reporter must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  In addition, the News Anchor Reporter must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

WWLP-22News, (NBC), has a full-time opening for a Television Account Executive.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for selling comprehensive media solutions to one or more local/regional/national accounts in a geographic territory to achieve sales targets and maximize revenues.  Principal Duties & Responsibilities include:

 

*Identify, develop, and expand existing and new client relationships & key accounts.
* Maintain close communications at various stages in the sales cycle including account updates, weekly projections & forecasting of future advertising.
* Conduct research on target markets and trends, and adjusts sales strategy accordingly.
* Ensure clear understanding and interpretation of client needs, and recommend appropriate solutions, in order to meet requirements.
* Develop short and long range plans for revenue growth.
* Negotiate advertising rates, create oral & written presentations; generate packages.
* Monitor accounts receivables.
* Research, analyze and monitor competitive media for new leads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Knowledge of online/digital and interactive advertising tools in order to advise advertisers and peer advertising sales representatives on the effective use of online/digital and interactive advertisements.

* Must be a confident, flexible, multi-tasker, and be able to work independently. 
* Knowledge of Comscore ratings is helpful.
