Account Executive

JOB DESCRIPTION:

KPVI Channel 6 in Pocatello, Idaho has an opening for an aggressive, knowledgeable and goal-oriented Account Executive to cover our Idaho Falls territory. Individual must be very customer-focused and able to build marketing plans to maximize local business growth. Organization, communications, and time management skills are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for generating revenue through the development of new accounts for the television station.

• Responsible for generating revenue by growing existing advertising revenue from current clients.

• Able to develop effective marketing plans to meet clients’ needs and objectives.

• Able to obtain budgets and meet deadlines.

• Responsible for ensuring superior client relations.

• Keep up-to-date on all station product lines and programming features.

• Keep up-to-date on the product lines and programming features of competing TV stations and other media platforms.

• Prepare and present both written and oral presentations.

• Prepare effective advertising schedules.

• Effectively negotiate advertising rates.

• Prepare accurate reports for sales management.

• Collection of accounts receivable, as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Self-motivated and high energy salesperson

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capable of handling multiple tasks.

• Analytical ability to utilize market analysis, ratings research, and other information to enhance sales efforts.

• Ability to work well with customers and fellow employees.

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other computer applications.

• Reliable and self-starting worker.

• Bachelor’s Degree and Sales Experience preferred, but not required.

• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and good driving record.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

· Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexible with hours and weekends
• Strong ethical business practices

· Possess a valid driver’s license

KPVI-TV in Pocatello-Idaho Falls, Idaho seeks a weekend Weather Anchor/Multimedia Journalist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified candidates will have experience producing and presenting weathercasts. Strong reporting, shooting, writing and editing skills are also a must. We’re looking for someone who can create accurate, understandable and energetic weathercasts, preferably with a degree in Meteorology. You must have passion for news and weather, the ability to work well with others, strong social media skills, and a sense of urgency and immediacy.

The Tetons, Yellowstone National Park and Jackson, Wyoming are just a few hours away and weather here can be very dynamic. As for reporting, we need someone who can enterprise stories, ask questions and produce compelling news packages and live shots.

JOB SUMMARY

Rich Broadcasting is proud to offer a Summer semester radio broadcasting internship opportunity. The goal of this program is to provide college students with meaningful and practical work experience in all aspects of radio programming, so they can acquire the knowledge, understanding, and confidence needed to pursue a career in broadcasting.  Intern assignments may vary day-to-day.

• Write, edit, and produce a radio newscast using good business and journalistic sense

• Write, edit, produce and update web content using good business and journalistic sense

• Participate in station marketing/promotional events/remotes

• Perform light clerical duties

• Assist staff members

· Work in compliance with all Company policies and procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be currently attending an accredited college/university and have achieved junior or senior status

• Must receive credit from academic institution to be able to participate in the program

• Provide at least one letter of recommendation, a copy of current college transcript and a writing sample

• Must be knowledgeable about current events

• Must be able to meet the minimum time commitment required for the internship
