Play By Play Producer / Board Operator and Remote Show Engineer

WYCQ, Inc., The Game Nashville has an immediate part-time opening for Play By Play Producer / Board Operator and Remote Show engineer.


Key responsibilities include:

-         Produce weeknight and weekend sports programming.

o   Run live games

o   Run live shows

-         Audio and video production of promos, special features and best-of-programming

-         Ensures readiness of audio clips, live-read scripts and availability of other show elements

-         Being accessible during non-broadcast times to react to breaking news & other unforeseen events

-         Contribute with social media and website posts

-         Run a live on site show remote which includes:

o   Driving station vehicle to event

o   Setting up remote broadcast equipment

o   Knowledge of a sound board

o   Knowledge of IP/ISDN interfaces

o   General audio troubleshooting



-         Minimum 2 years of Board Operator Experience

-         Knowledge of audio engineering

-         Use and/or Knowledge of Cool Edit / Adobe Audition / iMediaTouch

-         Strong interest and knowledge of sports.

-         Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels

-         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-         Functions well working independently and in a team environment

-         Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

-         Skill projecting professionalism over the phone and in person

-         Ability handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines

-         Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects

-         Positive attitude, ability to work on a team, and flexibility to evolve with position


Must be willing to work Weekends and Holidays 30-35 hours per week.

Traffic Coordinator

KHON2, the Fox and CW affiliate in Honolulu, is looking for a motivated, detail oriented, organized person to fill the Traffic Coordinator position.  Traffic Coordinator tracks and prepares logs for scheduled programming and advertisements, and performs other tasks to support the Sales department.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepares daily program log by obtaining information such as source, location and length of program

·         Calculates exact length of programs and time slots available for promotional material

·         Assigns promotional material to be inserted between programs

·         Creates and issues computerized program schedule for the station

·         Maintains program logging and other operational procedures

·         Coordinates with other departments to solve logistical problems in coordination of on-air promotions for station programming

·         Performs clerical functions as needed

·         Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements & Skills:

·         High School diploma

·         Fluency in English

·         Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

·         Minimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance

·         Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment


Physical Demands & Work Environment:


The Traffic Coordinator must be able to sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  The Traffic Coordinator must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment or items weighing up to 25 pounds.  In addition, the Traffic Coordinator must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.
