Systems Engineer I

SC Educational Television Commission is seeking a Systems Engineer I.
Provides team leadership and direction for the agencys sever, virtual server, and storage environment. Analyzes agency technology needs and system requirements to determine feasibility of design and technical specifications. Manages server and storage solutions including Windows server, VMWare virtual server, and Del Isilon storage implementations. Participates in defining architecture strategies and duration; works collaboratively to design, engineer and implement solutions in response to agency needs. Develops and ensures infrastructure documentation such as design and environment specifications, user and technical manuals and process methodology documentation. Configures, upgrades, maintains and administers server and storage assets.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelors degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
Bachelors degree. Experienced knowledge of information technology system analysis, environments. Experienced knowledge of VMWare virtual environments. Experienced knowledge of Dell Isilon storage environments. Experienced knowledge of Windows server environments. Ability to solve basic to moderately complex problems and apply critical thinking skills, both individually and as part of a team. Ability to prepare status reports and basic to moderately complex technical reports in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and staff members. Ability to follow technical directions. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Supervisory experience is preferred.
A bachelors degree and two years of experience working in information technology infrastructure environments and one year of storage and/or virtual computing administration experience.
