Microwave System Manager

This position has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the SCETV digital microwave system and maintenance of all SCETV owned transmission towers and for supervision of assigned staff. Recommends and implements improvements to microwave system operations and tower maintenance and has responsibility for on-going training of microwave staff.
Working knowledge of high frequency, high power RF systems and audio and video systems; working knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, OSHA, SC and other regulatory body rules; ability to supervise the activities of a group of technical personnel, often working at different physical locations; ability to distinguish colors; ability to maneuver and transport heavy test equipment and to be able to work within confined spaces. This position works around high voltage and large electrical equipment and must be able to respond to both emergency or critical calls on a 24 hours per day/7 days per week basis. The position also requires extensive travel, some of which is at night.
An associate degree in electronics and related experience. A valid SC Drivers License.
An associate degree in electronics or military electronics training and two (2) years of operating and maintaining a TV and FM, or high power radar transmitter installations and digital transmitters; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
