Digital Content Director #5219

The KSL TV Digital Content Director will manage the development and creation of new content for KSL, with a focus on podcasts, OTT and other digital formats for the purpose of increasing audience and growing revenue. 

The Director of Digital Content for KSL TV will lead the publication and distribution of engaging, compelling content across multiple platforms. This person will play a key role in charting the stations content and growth strategy.


Manage the KSL TV social team and lead digital strategy to grow multi-platform content, audience and engagement
Drive the newsroom to develop workflows that deliver our content 24/7 across current and future platforms with storytelling that is optimized for each screen
Analyze and actively use data and metrics to inform editorial and strategic decisions and to create accountability for results
Actively partner with KSLs news director and marketing director to create three-screen synergy (TV, digital, social) around station content and campaigns
Lead the social/digital team in identifying new content types and innovative technologies that help us reach and serve new
Create unique, engaging, shareable content
Collaborate with content leaders across KSL Broadcast Group and Bonneville International to maximize the sharing of our content and to leverage innovation and best practices among stations
Build the capabilities of the social/digital team through training and other development opportunities



Bachelors degree in journalism, communications or equivalent experience in the field
7-10 years of content experience, including 2-3 years managing other digital journalists
Knowledge of online CMS and ENPS, along with social newsgathering tools
Experience analyzing audience data and identifying behavioral trends
Passion and vision for emerging media
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Deep understanding of journalism and the KSL brand
Strong team management, planning and organizational skills
Capable of managing multiple projects and teams on an on-going basis
Strong communication and organization skills
Creative and strategic problem solver

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
