KSRM Radio Group, Inc. is searching for a dynamic and forward thinking News Director to lead our local news operation at KSRM 920 AM, in Kenai, AK.
If you have proven on-air broadcasting and leadership skills, we want to hear from you. Our award winning News Department is fiercely competitive and combines hour and half-hourly broadcasts with a strong web and social media presence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated journalist to have a deep impact on a booming community. This area boasts one of the few growing local economies in the nation and is settled along the banks of one of the top 10 rivers in the world, the Kenai River. Fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, kayaking, white water rafting, snow sports, and much more lie right outside your door.
To be considered, you must have a degree in journalism, communications, or similar, and a minimum of two years news broadcasting experience. We also want to see evidence of your leadership skills and ability to respond quickly to pressured situations. At times you will be required to respond immediately to breaking news with content on a variety of platforms. Integrity and sound judgment are crucial. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the fastest, most accurate news on the Kenai Peninsula.
Additionally, you must have a compelling on-air personality and ability to plan strategically for the Department. Experience operating in a small community is a plus, as is a background in oil, gas, and natural resource issues and Alaskan residency.
