Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer


KOLD has an opening for a full-time Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer in Tucson, Arizona. The Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer operates, maintains, updates, and repairs hardware, facilities, and systems used for broadcasting and news production. The Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Maintain broadcast technology, facilities, and equipment for the station


Maintain the IT network, switches, work stations, laptops and printer


Assist with system integration, documentation, and modification of Broadcast/IT systems, specifically regarding cabling and system documentation to KOLD standards


Communicate with members of the Technology team and other departments to contribute to the resolution of equipment and system performance issues


Performs other duties as assigned





Technical degree in Information Technology, Broadcasting, Electronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience


Excellent communication skills, both oral and written


Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record


Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment


Strong PC/MS Office/MS Server/Networking LAN experience


Familiarity with automation systems, master control switching, digital transmitters, microwave equipment, satellite antennas / receivers and other broadcast-related equipment


Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously


Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

The Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions using common sense without supervision, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Broadcast Maintenance IT/Engineer must be able to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, requiring average or above vision.
