Social Media Manager


WLTX-TV, CBS, a TEGNA station in Columbia, SC, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our market-leading digital team as Social Media Manager.  TEGNA Inc. This position is responsible for creating content for all digital platforms along with developing and implementing a multi-screen strategy, including web, apps, and social sites that increase
synergies between on-air and digital content.

You’ll also drive collaboration between station departments and lead training in digital, mobile and social reporting tools and techniques.



Candidates need in-depth knowledge and experience managing Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.  (Hootsuite is our preferred tool.)   Must be fluent with metric tools
like Omniture, Chartbeat, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter, and
have a working understanding of SEO best practices and principles. 

Excellent writing, and organization skills are required along with the ability to aggregate
daily/hourly trends to present in editorial meetings.  We’re looking for a team player, full of
ideas, who also has a great sense of humor. Two years web/social writing experience required.  Journalism, Marketing, or Mass Communication degree preferred.
