Announcer - Assignment Producer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Maine Public Radio is looking for an Announcer / Assignment Producer to join our team and to assist us in continuing the valued statewide public broadcasting service for which it is known!

The schedule for this position, which will be based at our Portland facility, needs to be flexible to accommodate the varied and changing needs of radio operations.   

Responsibilities include preparation and reading of announcements and news over the air for Maine Public Radio, operating studio equipment including computers and digital and analog audio components, producing regular and special programs and program segments, assisting in varied program production and recordings, and participating in various marketing and development events as assigned, as well as other reasonably related duties.

Requirements include a college degree or equivalent work experience and at least one year of experience as a radio or television announcer. Familiarity with computers, software, and digital systems is required.  A conversational,  steady, and measured public radio on-air delivery style is required.  Prior digital editing experience is preferred and familiarity with digital radio automation systems and processes is helpful.
