The Digital Assets Manager will participate in conceptualization, design, and implementation of new technologies, as well as ongoing operations in this newsroom / multiplatform station. This position will work closely with Sales and Promotions on monetization opportunities in emerging tech. Assists in developing growth in digital marketing service revenue for the company.
Essential Duties of a Digital Assets Manager:
Develop, manage, and coordinate product and services’ content utilized in the organization, including but not limited to:
Responsible for leading overall strategy, implementation and workflow of all digital assets for KTVA.
Assist in developing strategies to increase online audience.
Participate in the development of business strategy for digital properties.
Curate demonstrations for Sales/Promotions/News staff for best use of technologies.
Provide Sales/Promotions/News staff with online analytics for desired purpose.
Understand (and, anticipate) upcoming changes in digital landscape and communicate desired changes to Sales/Promotions/News teams.
Work with cross-functional and / or cross-segment teams within KTVA.
Ensure compliance with FCC laws and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical and management skills required with the ability to see the big picture and strategize.
Must possess a thorough understanding of online audience habits and audience acquisition strategies, including but not limited to:
How to use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in designing webpage layouts, stories.
Experience using multiple social media platforms on behalf of a brand or publication.
Proven success driving traffic and brand through these platforms.
Understanding of basic web analytics and how to apply them.
Execute effective, company compliant messaging on Social Media, text and email platforms.
Program website section fronts to engage digital consumers.
Track daily web analytics and respond accordingly.
Ability to quickly learn intuitive content management software for posting stories to KTVA.com.
Ability to use social media outlets for story and station promotion and public interaction
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail required.
Demonstrated knowledge of station guidelines and code of ethics.
Must be technically astute, highly organized and have a reputation for meeting deadlines.
Ability to understand and quickly apply new technology.
Ability to write and edit basic HTML language.
Ability to learn intuitive proprietary video-clipping software for upload to website.
Knowledge of MS Office and other common office tools software required.
Knowledge of Photoshop and other graphics software tools.
Knowledge of Wirecast software and Facebook Live broadcasting.
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Flurry and other web analytics platforms.
Strong knowledge of digital production technologies, including content management platforms, web and app development, and social networks.
Strong verbal communication skills, particularly in the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and the public.
Must be able to reconcile divergent demands of multiple parties under tight timelines.
Proven ability to collaborate within and outside assigned department and create an effective working environment for high traffic and/or potential stressful workloads.
Excellent active listening skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff required.
Must be self-directed and take the initiative regarding issues affecting the organization.
Neat, clean, professional appearance when in the field.
Physical Requirements: Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Hearing, vision, depth perception, and hand-to-eye coordination sufficient to perform job duties. Visual and auditory acuity necessary to operate equipment and identify color-coding. Working Conditions: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be requested to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
· Three or more years’ experience in related field required.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or digital media preferred. In addition to minimum experience required, degree may be substituted with relevant work experience on a year for year basis.
Certifications Required: Industry specific certifications are highly valued and can contribute toward education.
Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
