Position: KSL is looking for a transmitter engineer to contribute to the Engineering Department by ensuring DTV transmitters and associated equipment located on Farnsworth Peak perform reliably and within correct FCC specification. You will work closely with member stations to ensure timely response to problems and requests.
Assist Engineering and DTV Members in maintaining a reliable high quality "on-air" product
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building and DTV Member equipment
Maintain Farnsworth Peak building facilities including power generations, UPS, monitoring, control, and HVAC systems
Generate weekly shift and transmitter measurement reports
General cleaning and maintenance
5 years knowledge and experience operating and maintaining DTV Transmitters and RF systems including microwave equipment, mask filters, combiners, transmission lines, switching equipment, and antennas
Able to monitor, troubleshoot, and repair tower lighting systems
Proficient with computer workstations and software, computer networking design, and troubleshooting
Able to manage stress effectively
Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines or when circumstances required, including irregular hours, long and unscheduled hours, weekends, holidays, overtime, etc.
Must be able to effectively function in an isolated environment at a remote high altitude location for extended periods of time
Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion
Good hand/eye coordination with the ability to accurately distinguish between different colors
Substantial physical movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Able to work on ladders and in confined spaces
Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
