Web Developer - Knoxville, TN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WEB DEVELOPER - Knoxville, TN

Midwest Communications’ Web Department is currently seeking a full time, entry-level Web Developer to join our small and talented web development team.

 I.                   ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Web Developer for Midwest Communications, you will be writing the backend code that powers our website applications. The main technologies we work with are Python/Django, JavaScript (jQuery), and PostgreSQL and additional tools we use include Github, Trello, Sentry and Slack.

II.                ABOUT YOU

While it’s non-essential to know our specific technologies, you should have strong object-oriented programming skills in any language, as well as the willingness and ability to learn new web technologies.

You should have strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a small team environment with other developers and designers.

You should have an understanding and ability to use HTML and CSS; however, we employ designers to primarily focus on markup and styling, so your programming skills are far more important.

You’ll earn bonus points with us if you have experience with Python/Django or other MVC web frameworks, SQL databases, Linux, or web server maintenance.

If you’re a skilled developer who would enjoy working in an informal, collaborative environment and are ready to learn new web technologies, we’d like to hear from you!

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.

This position will be based in Knoxville, TN.

To apply, send your cover letter, resume and code samples to: Vice President of Digital Operations, 557 Scott Street, Wausau, WI 54403 or email andy.gille@mwcradio.com.
