APD/Air Talent for Top 40

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Employee’s duties include:

Performance of KCEZ live show both in control room and outside on location.
Written and planned preparation of KCEZ show.
Attendance of cluster weekly promotion meeting and KCEZ programming meetings.
KCEZ daypart voicetracking & weekend track airshift for both KCEZ and KEWB Redding.
Vacation relief/fill voicetracking if assigned for KEWB Redding.
KCEZ promotional and publicity activities, including live appearances and event attendance.
Voicing of commercial spot production (up to 30 minutes per weekday).
Cluster voice-track announcing if assigned by OM.
Updating assigned pages of station Website.
Updating station social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate Qualifications:

Must have valid CA Drivers License and be insurable by Company.
Must be able to carry/lift remote and appearance equipment.
Attention to detail, reliable.
Neat appearance for outside events.
Ability to setup remote equipment and appearance displays:  broadcast equipment, booth, signage.
Must be available to work Saturdays, and some evenings for special events.
Must have acceptable voice quality and delivery for KCEZ.
Ability to perform Commercial Remote Appearances as an air talent.
Must be able to operate broadcast control room.
Must be able to write, voice, and produce local retail spots.
Ability to learn and master our website content technology and Microsoft
Office.

REQUIREMENTS:

KCEZ Additional Duties

Be a student of hot topics that are relevant to our target listener in Chico, Paradise, and Oroville.
Work with the PD to generate ideas, concepts, and segments that distinguish our brand and engage our listeners.
Assist in creating and updating imaging and social media.
Work with Chico Promotion Director to create Power 102’s presence at local events.
Serve as Master of Ceremonies for public and/or private events.
Broadcast live from remote locations.
Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
Complete a daily Topic Sheet, and prepared show plan for PD before 1pm each weekday.
Complete a daily recycler and sleeze audio feature for PD before 1pm each weekday.
Upload music into the KCEZ server every week
Participate in 1pm call with PD every day, and the 1pm Power group call every Tuesday.
Clear any promotions, on air giveaways, mentions or station imaging with the PD before it goes live on air.
Create a weekly music grid for Power before weekly Wednesday 11am music meeting. Be prepared to participate in weekly music decisions.   
Upload the mix programming by 1pm for the next day.  This includes 12pm, 5pm, and Saturday night mixes.  Label shows correctly and ensure show imaging is accurate. 
Monitor the station, and alert OM and PD to off air problems. 
Host daily PM Drive show either in studio or out at topical/relevant locations in the market.
Complete Trouble Reports and inform OM and PD of an anomalies, deficiencies or issues that may warrant correction or resolution, including malfunctioning of studio equipment.
APD will be responsible for reporting any missing content or commercials to the PD and Production Director on a daily basis, including weekend logs. Before leaving work each day all missing spots and content music be accounted.
Attend Chico cluster meetings as a representative of the PD, and report meeting notes to the PD in daily 1pm meetings.  This includes the weekly Promotion Meeting.
 

Requirements of this position may include the following:

Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. including Excel, Word.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients at live events.
Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines.
Must be comfortable with Selector, a control board, remote broadcasting and other related studio software and equipment.
Must be creative, innovative, and have original thought in the performance of on-air duties.
