Rocky Mountain Public Media is one of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media organizations. To further this mission, RMPM is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public media, is growth-oriented, team-driven and enthusiastic about marketing across digital and broadcast platforms. This position will serve as a key member of the Rocky Mountain Public Media leadership team and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Develops a creative and ambitious marketing and engagement strategy for the organization and oversees its day-to-day implementation. Leads the organization in the following areas: Programming, Marketing/Communications, Creative Services, Audience Services, Community Engagement and Education. Directs the budget and meets the annual goals for all departments within the division. Works with a team of 4-5 direct reports and 6-7 indirect reports to design and execute promotional campaigns, public relations, and other sustained marketing, engagement and education efforts across all media platforms.
Leads the organization in integrated brand consistency across television, radio, web, social, e-communication and mobile platforms and responsible for distribution channel management. Researches market trends and uses internal and external analytics tools to implement strategies based on best-practices. Acts as the lead for audience insights. Supports revenue goals across RMPM to include underwriting, membership, in-person engagement and programming carriages. Collaborates with other departments to guide a unified marketing approach that meets internal objectives and market demands. Creates and maintains a solid network of strategic partnerships including relationships with nonprofit, business and government leaders. Other duties, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business administration required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years’ professional experience as a Chief Marketing Officer or similar role. Demonstrated experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing functions. Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital and non-digital platforms. Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities. Must be creative and analytical. Demonstrated ability to foster growth and creativity through coaching, mentorship, and on-going feedback. Willingness to adjust schedule to comply with a steady stream of deadlines. Previous experience in Broadcast Media preferred.
