ETV is seeking a full-time Microwave Technician with working hours Monday - Friday 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m.
-Under general supervision performs activities related to the operation of the SCETV Microwave transmission system and associated multiplexing equipment. Performs installation, alignment, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of Microwave transmission systems and components, associated multiplexing equipment and related electronic sensing devices.
-Performs routine and emergency maintenance on digital microwave radio systems, components and related electronic sensing devices. Performs system-level troubleshooting to determine point of failure of microwave circuits. Performs periodic power and frequency measurements on microwave radios and documents results. Identifies, analyzes and corrects microwave system problems to maintain peak system operating performance.
-Performs routine and emergency maintenance on, rectifier/battery backup systems, including maintaining batteries within specific gravity parameters where required.
-Performs routine and emergency maintenance on dehydrators pressurizing waveguide systems for microwave radios.
-Performs general inspection of microwave towers, guy lines and guy anchors and ensures all SCETV owned guyed towers with microwave radio antennas have adequate guy wire clearance from trees and vegetation. Also maintains associated buildings and grounds.
-Maintains/Repairs SCETV Tower Lighting Controllers in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular AC 70/7060-1K Change 2, Obstruction Marking and Lighting.
-After proper training and certification(s), assists full time SCETV Tower Climber(s) to perform routine and emergency maintenance on SCETV owned guyed towers, antenna systems and transmission lines.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
-An associate degree in electronics and related experience.
-National Certification as a tower climber or obtain within one year of employment in this position.
-An Associate degree in electronics and two years of experience with microwave systems or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
