One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media organizations is seeking a Controller. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public media, accounting, and grant administration. This position will serve as a key member of the Rocky Mountain Public Media Finance & Accounting team.
Works with the Director of Finance to assess financial performance with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Manages grants, including compliance, reporting, budget management, and deliverables. Completes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports and forecasts in partnership with NETA. Implements appropriate internal controls and manages organization’s payables and receivables. Manages investment portfolio, including coordinating with the Investment Committee and external advisors while maintaining the investment policy statement. Completes all state and tax filings. Manages insurance renewals. Responsible for lease and contract management. Other duties, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field required. Minimum of three years’ professional experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager or similar role. Active CPA license preferred. Demonstrated capability in budgeting and forecasting. Qualified candidates will also have strong analytical abilities, change leadership experience, team building skills and proficiency in grant administration. Willingness to adjust schedule to comply with periodic deadlines is required. Previous experience with a not-for-profit organization a plus.
