One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a driven, customer-focused people person who is interested in learning and working in multiple facets of our high-performing team. The ideal candidate for the temporary, part-time position of Receptionist/Community Engagement Coordinator has a passion for the nonprofit/public media sector and a desire to lead successful customer service interactions on the phone, in person and through email. This position serves as the front-line contact for anyone visiting our flagship station in Denver, as well as provides support to the Executive Office, Community Engagement, and other departments, as needed.


Serves as station first contact and receptionist for Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO public radio. Interacts with the public by properly identifying and routing incoming calls, inquiries, and visitors, and assists with Audience Services calls and emails. Accurately records all visitors and guests admitted. Distributes daily incoming mail, signs for deliveries and notifies employees of packages received. Schedules conference rooms and assists with other administrative duties. Maintains supplies and schedules servicing needs of the mailing equipment. Assists with Community Engagement projects, including planning events, volunteer coordination and event promotion. Schedules station tours, volunteer tour guides, and sends volunteer tour guide reminders and thank you notes. Trains and manages volunteers and staff to ensure the front desk has complete coverage during business hours. Other duties, as assigned.


Four-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Ability to deal in person and by telephone and email with a variety of individuals with tact and efficiency a must. Demonstrated PC experience to include Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Demonstrated excellence as an effective oral and written communicator necessary. Data entry skills and great attention to detail desired. Strong customer service and administrative skills a must. Experience and interest in event planning, customer service and marketing a plus. Spanish language skills a plus.
