This is a key supervisory position. At WEEK, we are committed to strong journalism and community service on television, on the Web, on mobile and in social media. We’re looking for a leader, a coach and a hands-on architect for our news platforms. . The successful candidate will have solid news judgment, exceptional news writing abilities, as well as strong planning, leadership and communication skills.
This job isn’t about coding. It’s about telling great stories with accuracy and immediacy. It’s about seizing opportunities to conceptualize and create entirely new kinds of content. It’s about setting, teaching and holding staff accountable for new standards of quality control. It’s about teamwork. Knowledge of the Frankly Media/Worldnow CMS and social media best practices are preferred but not required. If you have the drive to succeed, we’ll teach you and help you grow.
You’ll be a part of Quincy Media. A growing family owned company with television stations operating in 14 markets with approximately 40 program streams all equally committed to making a difference every day in the communities we serve.
The Internet Director will supervise and work closely with the news, weather and sports teams to create and deliver compelling content for our customers, when and where they want it. You will also be called upon to help our creative service and sales departments. Newsroom experience preferred.
