AK Public Media, Chief Dev & Marketing Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Alaska Public Media (AKPM) seeks a Chief Development and Marketing Officer (CDO). The CDO serves as the principal development and communications leader of a broad-based public media organization the delivers television, radio, and web content.  AKPM is the source for NPR radio and PBS television for South Central Alaska and stewards the statewide Alaska Public Radio Network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Chief Development & Marketing Officer is responsible for ensuring success for all fundraising, special events, community engagement, marketing, and public relations efforts at Alaska Public Media.   The CDO works collaboratively with a leadership team to identify, define, and operationalize strategic initiatives for the company while providing fundraising tools and resources to AKPM board members.

REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

Commitment to mission, vision and values of Alaska Public Media

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience

Broad understanding of non-profit development and marketing

Five to seven years’ experience in development and marketing

Five years’ experience in senior management role

Strong written and oral skills

Desired Qualifications:

CFRE accreditation or desire to achieve accreditation

Master’s degree in business administration, non-profit management or other related field

Prior public radio and/or public television development and marketing experience

Competencies:

Effective at planning, assessing, performing, and evaluating

Demonstrate consistent outstanding customer service

Consistently demonstrate ethical behavior
