Interlochen Center for the Arts, one of America’s most prestigious institutions for arts education, performance and fine arts is seeking to hire a Arts & Culture Program Director for Interlochen Public Radio. This position will lead, manage and deliver the Classical IPR radio and online service, work closely with VP and Executive Producer of Presentations, VP of Communications and Engagement, Director of Content and IPR News Director to collaboratively develop broader arts and culture specials and features, broadcasts and webcasts as applicable, in support of Interlochen Center for the Arts

Major responsibilities will include the following:
Develop programming strategy for Classical IPR, working to optimize local and national programs and content.
Oversee day-to-day management of Classical IPR service, including program contracts, budget and staffing schedule.
Manage a team of 6, including three part-time hosts, one full time host, recording engineer and producer.
Coach on-air hosts to optimize delivery of programs and content.
Produce, write and edit programs for Classical IPR, including artist interviews, live broadcasts and special programs/features, including guest hosting.
On-air hosting as needed and to be determined.
Produce program promos as needed and programs playlists and edits in Music Master software.
Managing broader content strategy in addition to oversight of day-to-day station programming, hosting and staffing.
Incumbent makes independent decisions regarding on-air and digital content, audio editing and production.
Work internally to serve as a bridge between Classical IPR, broader ICA content team and Presentations.
Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, music or other related art form. At least 5 years experience working in a classical/arts-broadcasting environment.
Solid knowledge of classical music repertoire is a requirement.
Radio and digital content production experience is a requirement.
Experience producing series length radio programs/podcasts is essential.
