One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking an Investigative Producer. Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Network, based in Denver, serves the Rocky Mountain Region as a PBS and NPR affiliate. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public media, and is skilled in investigative reporting.
This position will be charged with developing, investigating, reporting and producing his/her own long format pieces for inclusion in weekly broadcast.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Develops, researches, writes and produces primary investigative and long form pieces for inclusion in weekly broadcast. Contributes story ideas and helps shape editorial direction and consistency of program. Works with news team for long-term editorial planning and writes copy for weekly on-air program and for digital platforms. Performs reporting research and database analysis and helps determine guests for weekly show. Collaborates with photographers to create field production content. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree strongly preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in television news with demonstrated achievement in investigative reporting and/or long form content. Candidates must be knowledgeable around integrating content within digital and social platforms. Qualified candidates will also possess exceptional research, writing, problem analysis, decision-making, and time management skills. Additionally, candidates must be able to travel and mange field logistics and production. Spanish language skills a plus.
