PRODUCER/MEDIA LAB MANAGER - Colorado Springs

JOB DESCRIPTION:
One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a Producer/Media Lab Manager. Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Network, based in Denver, serves the Rocky Mountain Region as a PBS and NPR affiliate. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public media, is skilled in all aspects of studio and remote production and has a track record of developing curriculum related to citizen journalism.

This position will serve as a Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Network producer, fulfilling corporate support spot production for the Southern Colorado underwriting team. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing citizen journalism courses and distributing finished products from courses to local and statewide media partners. The Producer/Media Lab Manager will also perform revenue-generating support, including prospecting, small contract negotiation and contract execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
TYPICAL DUTIES: Produces corporate support spots, interstitials and other identified organizational needs. Directs or assists with studio and remote productions, including operating cameras, audio equipment, lighting instruments, switchers, character generators, prompters, recorders and editors. Manages the Media Lab at the Tim Gill Center for Public Media. Scales the Citizen Journalism curriculum to partner with other locations within and outside of the RMPBN network.

REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree required. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in television, radio or multimedia production. Qualified candidates will also possess exceptional communication, decision-making, and time management skills. Spanish language skills a plus.
