One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a dynamic and versatile On-Air Host/ Production Assistant to join our team and embark upon a career in production. This position serves the programming department as an on-air host and production assistant representing the station’s overall sound, while supporting both radio and TV.
On-air, 3-4 hours each day, Monday-Friday; Selects music and keeps the playlist updated. Schedules and promote information segments in show; assists with all production needs as assigned by Production Director. Provides content for social media; schedules and conducts interviews and schedules live performances for the performance studio. Reaches out to the community for story ideas. Photographer for on-site interviews. Responsible for EAS tests, as required. Interacts with public via phone, personal appearances. Other duties, as assigned.
Articulate and able to communicate with a strong on-air presence. Experience in production, specifically Garage Band software. Able to record and produce promos and voice over announcements. Creative, independent problem solving with little or no supervision. Dependable with great customer service skills. Organized, and pays close attention to details necessary to execute duties. Professional appearance. Works well under stress and with limited resources. Knowledge of public broadcasting and non-profit organizations a plus. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. Understands and supports KUVO’s mission and organizational goals.
