One of the nation`s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a driven, customer-focused people person, who is interested in learning and working in multiple facets of our high-performing team. The ideal candidate for the position has a passion for the nonprofit/public media sector and a desire to lead successful customer service interactions on the phone, in-person and through email with internal and external key stakeholders. This position serves as the front-line contact for anyone visiting our flagship station in Denver, as well as provides support to the Executive Office and various departments, as needed. In the past, this position has served as a springboard for advancement for effective, self-motivated individuals looking to achieve their longer-term career goals.

TYPICAL DUTIES: Serves as station first contact and receptionist for Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO public radio, and I-News with back-up support from staff and volunteers. Interacts with the public by properly identifying and routing incoming calls, inquiries and visitors. Serves as primary back-up for Executive Office administrative support. Maintains building access with regard to front entrance during normal business hours including accurately logging all visitors and guests admitted. Distributes daily incoming mail, signs for deliveries and notifies employees of packages received. Responsible for the maintenance of supplies and servicing needs of the mailing equipment. Also provides training on the postage machine as needed. Responsible for maintaining the procedure manual for the front desk duties by updating as necessary. In addition, will train all internal staff or temporary help who assist with the receptionist duties on the necessary functions. Recruit and manage volunteers and staff to ensure the front desk has complete coverage during business hours. Performs other duties and projects as assigned in order to cross-train in other departments to identify strengths and opportunities to advance the work of Rocky Mountain PBS and its portfolio of brands.

QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Ability to deal in-person and by telephone and email with a variety of individuals with tact and efficiency a must. Demonstrated PC experience to include Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Database and customer service experience desired; interest and experience in project coordination a plus. Demonstrated excellence as an effective oral and written communicator necessary. Data management skills and great attention to detail desired. Strong customer service skills a must. Spanish language skills a plus.
