Townsquare Media of Lafayette and NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL is looking or its next multimedia journalist who can get the job done. The ideal candidate will need to be a recent college graduate trying to get their foot in the door to the industry.
Duties will include covering the Lafayette City Parish Council, the Lafayette Parish School Board, Packaging stories for broadcasts, writing long and short form newscasts for broadcast, post stories to station website, and any other duties assigned by the brand manager. Must be able to write broadcast material in a conversational manner, while writing online content in AP style.
This job will require the candidate to be both a studio and field the candidate to work independently. The old days of radio are gone. The candidate should feel comfortable posting to a WordPress platform and creating video content for the stations website and YouTube channel. This is an opportunity to be part of a cutting edge multimedia company. This position requires a flexible schedule, as well as availability during evenings and weekends.
