Programming/Traffic Technician I

One of the nation`s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a dynamic and versatile Programming/Traffic Tech to join our team. This position supports Rocky Mountain PBS` Director of Programming and Traffic Department. The successful candidate will be scheduling on-air interstitial material and programs and will act as a liaison between master control, production, corporate sales and other departments in meeting deadlines for programming.

Liaison between programming/ traffic and master control to execute policies and procedures of broadcast elements to on-air. Liaison between programming/ traffic and content generating departments of transferring of all network related interstitial materials and programs. Works closely with Corporate Sales and assists with entering sales contracts and scheduling of television broadcast and non-broadcast elements. Prepares program logs on computer for Master Control according to station policies and Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulations. Assists with assignment of network records for broadcast. Delivers tapes and continuity materials to appropriate on-air personnel, including electronic transfer. Assists with proof reading and data entry of traffic materials.

Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience.
2 yrs successful traffic experience in the broadcast industry.
Ability to work with figures, specifically timing information, and maintain accuracy; attention to detail is essential.
Must be available for on call coverage during station broadcast hours.
Experience in operating and maintaining a PC based database.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
Knowledge of television broadcast operations and procedures.
Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the provisions of RMPBS automobile insurance.
