KSFR,101.1 fm, Santa Fe`s community supported public radio station is looking for a new General Manager. Building upon its legacy of world-class music and news/talk programs KSFR wants to share its resources with the world while continuing to focus on Santa Fe and the broader Northern New Mexico communities.
Strategic Oversight. Working closely with the Board and with KSFR’s staff, volunteers, and on-air personnel, the GM will guide and monitor an ongoing process of strategic planning and evaluation, endeavoring thereby to ensure that the station is responsive to emerging trends in the communications industry, in the region KSFR serves and represents, and in the world at large. Institutional Advancement. Working with the Board to establish operational goals and budget priorities, the GM will develop an annual budget, ensure that sufficient funds are available and help build a reliable financial foundation that will support the ongoing functions of the station and its future operational goals. Personnel Management. The GM will guide and oversee the work of KSFR’s full- and part-time employees, with ultimate responsibility for hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and volunteer oversight, and for communicating, implementing, and monitoring the station’s personnel policies. Operations Management. The GM will have overall responsibility for station programming, and for compliance with all applicable regulations, including those of the Federal Communications Commission and of KSFR’s license-holder, the Santa Fe Community College. Community Outreach. The GM will represent KSFR to the local community and ensure that the station is responsive to that community’s needs and concerns. The GM will set the tone for all communications with listeners, with media representatives, and with the general public.
Candidate must have 5 years professional experience with strong background in fundraising, broadcasting and digital media, a capacity for creative thinking and strategic planning, and a proven ability to work harmoniously with a gifted staff, volunteer producers, a dedicated board, and with the diverse constituencies that support our programming.
The NNMRF Board seeks a General Manager who recognizes the potential that KSFR represents, and who will provide the vision, leadership, fundraising know-how and managerial skills required to realize that potential. Candidates for this position will be expected to possess a strong background in fundraising, broadcasting and digital media, a capacity for creative thinking and strategic planning, and a proven ability to work harmoniously with a gifted staff, volunteer producers, a dedicated board, and with the diverse constituencies that support our programming.
