Hub Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary: The Staff Accountant supports the Hub Accounting Department in various tasks related to the monthly accounting close process including the analysis of financial performance of various TV stations, preparing monthly journal entries, complying with monthly internal SOX controls, and other accounting functions to assist with the monthly close process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Assist with the preparation of monthly accounting journal entries • Assist with the preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations • Review financials against station budgets monthly for variances • Prepare station balance sheet reconciliations monthly • Review and or analyze general ledger accounts • Prepare monthly CIP reports • Assist with communications between Hub Business Manager and station personnel • Perform certain other functions as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements & Skills: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. 2. Fluency in English. 3. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 4. Experience in GAAP accounting or financial analysis, preferably in the broadcast industry and/or a public company environment. 5. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment. 6. Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets a must. Physical Demands & Work Environment: The Staff Accountant must be able to sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Repetitive movements are required.
