QUALIFICATIONS: Marketing and/or communication degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, promotions, sales and/or event coordination field, preferably in radio and/or television. Knowledge and enthusiasm for all things pop culture preferred. Social media and digital media engagement skills required; basic HTML, CSS and CMS skills preferred. Superior verbal, writing, proofreading and editing skills. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record as determined by the Company.
DUTIES: • Works with Program Director, Digital Media Director, VP of Sales, local sales managers, account managers and support staff to coordinate on-air, web, and/or on-site opportunities that provide a benefit for the radio station, listeners and clients/sponsors. • Builds and enhances on-line community and social media relationships. • Works with sales departments to establish outside relationships for cross-promotional partnerships. Works on development and execution of community growth strategies with others. • Develops strong relationships to position station as a pop culture leader in the community both on-air and on digital/social media platforms. • Works within approved budgets and guidelines. • Recruits, interviews, hires and manages full-time Promotions Assistants, and part-time promotions event staff. • Point of contact for listener email comments. Responds appropriately and promptly. Escalates issues when necessary. • Oversees station contests, including rules and prize fulfillment. Secures prizes, and obtains required waiver release information according to company policy. • Works established schedule and other hours as needed including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to drive station and own vehicles for work purposes. May lift boxes in excess of 25 lbs. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
