CBS Radio in Phoenix is searching for a qualified Assistant Program Director / Music Director for its Live 101.5 radio station.
• Oversee the daily operation/message and music scheduling/talent requirements of the station. • Work directly with Programming, Marketing & Promotions, Sales and other departments as required. • Ensure that station formatics are executed properly and as proposed by Program Director. • Schedule music via RCS Selector software and run daily/weekly analysis of Selector software/schedules. • Create RCS Long Audit Trials, successfully analyze music scheduling problems and propose reliable solutions. • Assist with creating Contest/Promotional/Imaging/Online/Email copy and Themed Weekend campaigns. • Maintain the stations’ music libraries and oversee the dubbing of all music content media. • Secure music required for broadcast. • Continually re-examine the Selector software to ensure that all pertinent data is listed for each song and that all fields are complete and correct. • Attend music sorts/perceptual presentations and actively participate in brainstorming sessions. • Manage relationships with trade magazines, radio critics, and Internet vendors who compose editorial about the industry and station. • Protect the Station’s FCC license.
• A minimum of two years APD/Music Director experience with a proven track record and a minimum of 2 years experience scheduling music via RCS Selector and control room messaging via Promo Suite software is required. • Must have knowledge of FCC rules. • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work autonomously. • Ability to run broadcast facility board and operate EAS hardware required. • Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills. • Knowledge of the format and the audience is required; knowledge of geographical demographics preferred. • High school diploma required; college degree in a related field preferred.
