Director of Digital Media

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial and energetic leader to develop a digital vision and strategy for our statewide NPR & PBS Network. The individual we seek for our position should have strong new media skills combined with significant experience in broadcast or print journalism to build a comprehensive digital media program, built on the successes of our existing radio and television programming. We`re eager to create a "digital first" culture across all facets of the organization. The successful candidate will focus on development of digital strategies for our existing platforms, as well as delivering new content and programs for the citizens of Maine. The Director of Digital Media will help build social media strategies for news, talk, and music offerings, as we work to reach more users, contributors and stakeholders through our new Strategic Plan, calling for growth and expansion of regional journalism and reporting. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in all facets of digital media, preferably in print or broadcast journalism, or a similar tech field. This position requires strong analytical and technical skills, creative and practical problem-solving ability, and sound judgment and decision-making based on user experience. In addition, experience with and understanding of Drupal, CMS and HTML5 is preferred, and experience with FTP software, MS Office and graphics editing applications is required.

A Bachelor`s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience with all varieties of digital media, preferably in fields such as journalism, broadcasting, higher education or in a nonprofit organization required.
