Multimedia Journalist - KTUL


The Multimedia Journalist will research, shoot, write, edit and report stories for air and online media platforms. This position requires an organized and creative approach to reporting and storytelling. Must maintain files for future and past stories. Must write to video and look for the best opportunities to take advantage of natural sound on videotape. May be asked to work on specific beat, which would require story idea generation on that assigned beat. Must stay up with current events. Must work assigned shifts. Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Demonstrated success as a television news reporter with at least three years’ experience in radio or television news preferred. Must possess strong journalistic, artistic and analytical abilities and able to perform well in live on air reports. Must be able to shoot, write, and edit own stories and present a live product daily. A Bachelors degree in Journalism or related field is preferred. Also, must possess knowledge of multimedia presentation and software including video editing and posting on the website. Must be able to drive and travel to location work. Computer Internet skills are helpful. Must be able to meet deadlines and criticism and meet the physical demands of the position (locations work, typing, on call 24 hours/day). Must maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and good driving record.
