Assistant Broadcast Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Shift: Days M-F (8 am to 5 pm) May require some evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical Duties: Responsible for maintaining on air operations including repair and maintenance of all broadcast equipment (video, audio and computer) at the studio, remote sites and in the engineering core. Install new equipment and perform constant upgrades to existing systems. Continuous training and supervision of Master Control operators on systems. Create documentation for repairs and system upgrades. Operate certain technical equipment such as measurement, video/audio switching, satellite reception and transmission equipment. Clean Racks and other equipment of dust from fans and filters. Work cooperatively with other departments and cross train in order to perform duties related to Master Control. Fill in 8 or more hours a week in Master Control. Train new operators for Master Control. Perform other tasks as assigned by department head.

REQUIREMENTS:
Strong skills in repair and adjustment of technical equipment. Experience with trouble shooting to board level, soldering skills preferred. Ability to analyze satellite equipment, tune and aim dishes and use a spectrum analyzer preferred. Electronic experience and broadcast equipment experience preferred. Knowledge in Networking and computer systems a plus. Must be 21 years of age and possess a current driver’s license with no DUI convictions. Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment. SBE certification a plus, but not required. Benefits include: 401K, Company Health, Vision, and Dental available.
