The Alaska Broadcaster’s Association (ABA), a non-profit organization, seeks an experienced business professional to lead an expansive broadcasting membership.
This individual will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the organization. Duties will include working with the ABA Board of Directors in implementing ABA’s strategic goals; communication with ABA members; state and federal government outreach; and member-oriented special event management and coordination. Administrative duties include coordination of board activities and directives; overseeing, planning and execution of the annual ABA Broadcast Convention; coordinating ABA’s efforts in communicating with federal and state legislators; distributing all government relations info to ABA member stations; and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the organization in coordination with the ABA president and ABA Executive Committee.
Qualified candidate must have strong verbal and written skills, with a professional polish; experience working for a Board of Directors, preferably in the broadcast or communications field; knowledge of and/or prior involvement in the broadcast/communication field; leadership experience in running “not-for-profit” and volunteer organizations; strong communications and team building skills; and legislative and regulatory policy experience is preferred. Full benefits package offered. Compensation includes salary plus incentives and DOE.
