JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Executive Producer/Broadcast Content supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the News Department with guidance from the News Director including news coverage, weather coverage, sports and production of all newscasts. Oversees producers, reporters, and assignment desk editors as well as the preparation and broadcast of all news programming. Must be able to direct and coordinate breaking news coverage. Must maintain quality control both technically and editorially. Must ensure newscast maintains the highest ethical standards. Works with Executive Producer/Digital Content to ensure that the newsroom staff updates the Station’s website and social media accounts. Produces newscasts and special coverage as needed. Is responsible for operating within the news strategic operating plan that is put into place by the News Director. Needs to motivate and coach news personnel to perform at top levels. Serves as a member of the station Leadership Team. Responsible for managing stressful and time sensitive situations such as breaking news and severe weather. Performs other duties as needed and assigned. Reports directly to the News Director.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Journalism or related field preferred. At least five years or more of progressively responsible experience in line producing newscasts in a medium sized or large sized market is preferred. Must be a proven leader with excellent news judgment who enjoys exploring creative and new ways to deliver content, while maintaining a clear focus on viewers. Must have excellent writing and editing skills for on-air and online. Should possess strong collaboration and interpersonal skills when working with multiple departments. Must be a strong communicator under breaking news deadlines and have a background that demonstrates a daily commitment to all news platforms, including online publishing. Must be proficient with the use of graphics and all newsroom resources and able to handle multi-task projects. Must have the ability to work well under stressful and/or time sensitive situations.
