General Sales Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Wilks Broadcasting is looking for proven leaders with a track record in sales and management to serve as General Sales Manager at our Kansas City and Denver clusters. Applicants must have broadcast media experience and proven sales management.

Our Sales Managers become our partners so the successful candidate must also be a dynamic leader, a consummate sales person and have a strong work ethic. This position includes competitive compensation and benefits packages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include leading, hiring, training and managing the sales staff to achieve sales budgets and outpace the market; increasing revenue by developing creative sales opportunities; managing inventory and pricing effectively; and maintaining client relationships

REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidates must be performance-driven and results-oriented, with excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. They must be excellent recruiters and developers of talent. They should also be able to accept constructive criticism and have a desire to better themselves professionally.

Applicants must have management experience as a local or national radio sales manager; radio sales experience with a proven track record required; and must have a detailed knowledge of sales techniques, sales training, budget procedures, quantitative/qualitative research, management philosophies, daily sales procedures, traffic (pricing and inventory control), collections and hiring techniques.
