NATIONAL SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc., consisting of KWCH-TV, KSCW-TV, and satellite stations KBSD-TV, KBSH-TV, KBSL-TV, is currently accepting applications for a full-time National Sales Account Executive. This position is responsible for managing the station's national sales efforts.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and maximize national sales and collections
  • Sell advertising consistent with station policies and rate guidelines
  • Negotiate national advertising buys
  • Prepare avails and establish rates based on current inventory
  • Communicate and build relationships with national buyers; interact daily with clients and agencies
  • Incorporate market research and rating/sales reports into marketing plans and presentations
  • Create advertising contracts; negotiate rates with clients and agencies
  • Responsible for handling make-goods for national accounts
  • Keep Director of Sales informed of market conditions and competition
  • Develop and execute an effective strategy to increase national sales and meet goals
  • Visit national rep firm's offices to meet with agencies
  • Ensure advertising is delivered correctly and as ordered
  • Perform other job related duties as requested
  • Actively participate in weekly creative meetings to help grow business in sales, digital and contesting
  • Some local or national trips should be expected
  • Work a regular 40-hour work week. Some nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
Essential Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of broadcast television sales on-air and on-line
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and keyboarding
  • Experience with marketing tools and Wide Orbit preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory management, rates, packaging, and marketing research
  • Must have a keen ability to negotiate business and manage clients
  • Must be able to give public presentations
  • Overall knowledge of rating system and methodology is essential
  • Ability to remain current of market conditions and competition
  • Ability to form and build trust with national rep firms and agencies
  • Advanced knowledge of current station programming schedule
  • Working knowledge of marketing research
  • Must be a good listener
  • Must be able to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to remain positive and foster a positive work environment
  • Must represent the company with professionalism and integrity

REQUIREMENTS:
We're seeking someone with 3-5 years of sales and/or media background, with broadcast sales experience preferred. Some college or an Associate`s degree is required, as are a valid driver`s license, with a good driving record.
