The Photojournalist is responsible for shooting and editing news video for air on Tulsa`s Channel 8 news and special news programs and for working in cooperation with news reporters and the assignment desk. This person will be responsible for taking care of photographic ENG equipment and News Department vehicles, may be called upon to gather information when a reporter is not at the scene of a news event, will look for the best video and natural sound to tell a story, and will suggest story and series ideas to the assignment desk regularly. Also, responsible for posting content to the website daily. Sometimes this person will advise the reporter on how to best visualize a news package, produce a high quality and journalistically sound visual product, meet newscast deadlines and be able to set up and run live microwave trucks.
Must demonstrate success as television news photographer. Prefer one to five years of television news photography experience. Working knowledge of non-linear editing and Live ENG equipment. Prefer college degree in Journalism or Radio/TV/Film. Must be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds; load and unload vehicle; verbally communicate in English; perform audio checks; perform manual dexterity tasks; maintain valid driver's license and have a clean driving record. Must have the ability to work well under stressful and/or time sensitive situations.
