Chief Meteorologist

KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado, has an immediate opening for a Chief Meteorologist. r

The Weather Anchor is responsible for producing and anchoring weather casts using state-of-the-art weather forecasting equipment (Weather Central). Duties include forecasting and building weather maps using computer generated graphics, as well as posting forecasts to web and recording audio forecasts for our radio partnership.

The ideal candidate will be able to connect with our local viewers during live news casts at 5, 6, and 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, reporting the weather of the day clearly and comfortably. The candidate should also be active and engaging with viewers via social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. The ability to do some reporting and interact well with co-anchors and other personnel, and meet all deadlines and work schedules, is also essential to this position. Flexible schedule and public appearances required.

The candidate must have a four year meteorology degree. Two years of broadcast experience is preferred.

Experience with Weather Central is a plus. A valid driver's license is required.

Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.
