Part-time Duties: Write, produce, and oversee all aspects of production of newscast; work with anchor team, executive producer and news director to create the most compelling newscast possible; and other duties as assigned by manager.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field; strong knowledge of journalistic standards Skills: Candidate must have strong knowledge of journalistic standards, 1-5 years of producing experience (number of years dependent on market), previous internet or news web publishing experience preferred. Comprehensive verbal and writing skills; strong leadership skills; strong problem solving skills; strong organizational skills. Candidates will have excellent news judgment and familiarity with control room operations. Basic computer skills required, with some knowledge of news computer systems preferred; ability to monitor and use police scanners, basic familiarity with ENG (Electronic News Gathering) equipment; ability to work closely with others under pressure; must be self motivated and creative. Must have experience with edgy graphics and intensive newscasts in a producer-driven work environment. Experience: Some TV news experience preferred. On air video journalist experience a plus.
