Sales Associate

The Sales Associate will be an aspiring Account Executive. This position is designed to provide the employee with the quality training that will allow them to fully understand the Radio business from a sales perspective. The early stages of this position will be focused on sales training, building relationships, working with the Sales, Traffic, Promotions and Programming departments in an effort to comprehend the totality of becoming an Account Executive. The goal of this position is that the Sales Associate will be ready to become a full time, experienced Account Executive within twelve months. The Sales Associate will work with senior Account Executives, Team Leaders, and the Local Sales Manager as they learn and develop the experience to become an Account Executive. The position allows training to occur by learning. Duties include: brainstorm ideas with sales team; prepare promotions plans, sales literature, and advertising proposals; attend sales calls; participate in proposals; work on specific deals and accounts with current Account Executives; learn quantitative and qualitative research; learn to use internal systems (Wide Orbit, Traffic Procedures, etc; participate in sales promotions; develop sales pieces to present to the sales staff; learn how to prospect clients in person and via telephone; learn how to maintain and service accounts; investigate and resolve customer problems; create list of own by seeing sales process through from initial call in/lead through closing and into maintenance of account


College degree or equivalent experience.

Must possess exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills; must be able to utilize research in presentations; ability to cold call with resulting in-person appointments; must demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills; work effectively and efficiently under pressure and stress; must demonstrate initiative and ability to manage one’s business with minimal supervision; great written and interpersonal skills required; must be a self-starter and independent worker; basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); valid driver`s license and vehicle with appropriate insurance
