INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER: WRDW-TV, Augusta, Georgia, is looking for a reporter to specialize in investigative and viewer resolution reporting. We're one of the top award-winning newsrooms in the sunny southeast, equipped with a satellite truck, all digital newsroom and great looking studio.
This position requires having several stories in progress, including in-depth investigative stories, while also turning daily packages. Position includes working with Call for Action volunteers to help answer calls and research stories. Your demo should prove you know how to dig beyond the day-turn interviews, have a knack for asking tough questions, yet the tact to resolve viewers' problems with local businesses and government agencies. The Garden City is a beautiful place to work and play...just a couple of hours from the beaches and mountains.
You'll work with a photographer on most days but should have experience in shooting and non-linear editing. IRE & CAR background also a plus. JOURNALISM DEGREE AND PREVIOUS NEWSROOM EXPERIENCE A MUST. Knowledge of media law, Open Request Records and the Freedom of Information Act desired..
