Manager of Technology

KDEN is an NBC Telemundo owned-and-operated television station in Aurora, Clorado that airs Spanish-language programming from the Telemundo network.

The Manager of Technology is responsible for the functional operation of KDEN`s Technology Department.

This position will be based in Aurora Colorado at Telemundo Denver’s offices.

Responsibilities include

  • Oversee the daily operations of project integration, repairs & maintenance, cameras and satellite operations for KDEN office as well as the remote news team offices at KUSA Gannett affiliate station in Denver
  • Manage, troubleshoot, repair, and install various studio, field, and IT equipment and systems
  • Install and test technical equipment and systems
  • Manage the Master Control Operators, including filling in on a weekly, sometimes more frequent basis, as an operator
  • Maintain and set up IT systems for Denver, including program upgrades
  • Work in conjunction with the Regional Director of Technology on capital planning, long-term strategies and projects
  • Work closely with vendors and internal sourcing to establishing relationships that will foster new opportunities, solutions and cost savings
  • Formulate and organize in-house and external development and training programs
  • Actively participate and collaborate with the company’s Environmental Health and Safety programs
  • Write and conduct annual performance appraisals
  • On Call 24/7 for emergency problem resolution


  • Minimum 3 years Production and Broadcast Engineering/IT experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive for the company on a daily basis
  • Knowledge of digital television transmission systems

  • Must be willing to work in Aurora/Denver location
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel between multiple markets multiple times a month and at a moment`s notice in emergency situations
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU`s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
