General Sales Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position: General Sales Manager
Location: Toledo, OH

Description: WNWO-TV, Toledo`s NBC affiliate, has an opening for an aggressive, knowledgeable, and goal-oriented General Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts.

Individual must be able to drive revenue, adept at team-building, customer-focused, and capable of handling multiple tasks. Developing a team that is focused on customer oriented results is a must. Organization, communication, and time management skills are the most valuable ingredients for consideration as a top candidate.

  • Proven outstanding revenue generator
  • Demonstrated expertise in new business development.
  • Strong understanding of lead generation, CRM and account management systems and strategies
  • Proven team leader with the ability to sell, motivate, train, and deliver results
  • Reliable, self motivated, positive, high energy individual
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience negotiating and editing substantive legal agreements, including terms and conditions
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks
  • Ability to forecast and budget
  • Ability to effectively price and control inventory
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer applications
  • A minimum of 2 years GSM/DOS media sales management experience required.
  • Management experience in TV or radio preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver`s license and good driving record
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of sales staff including the ability to hold staff accountable to daily job requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing substantial “House” list of accounts and to build strong relationships at the station level.
  • Identify and acquire quality sales staff
  • Train, coach, debrief and develop sales staff
  • Structure sales staff to maximize strengths
  • Effective inventory control and pricing
  • Develop, initiate and execute sales marketing strategies for our various products using traditional advertising, social media, digital advertising, etc.
  • Effectively strategize, build, and execute sales operation plans and budgets
  • Responsible for building monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for sales staff
  • Highly visible to current and potential advertisers via sales calls, conference attendance, speakers opportunities, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring superior relations with staff and clients
