Sales Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Interested in a career in sales? We believe people from all backgrounds can make great sales leaders. We are excited to offer a sales training program that is designed to help selected individuals develop the skills and abilities necessary to become a successful Account Executive.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
CBS Radio in Phoenix is recruiting highly-motivated individuals with strong leadership skills for our Sales Associate Program. The position is a maximum one year assignment, during which time you will learn the radio business by mentoring under a Senior Account Executive and by providing support to the Senior Account Executive to do what they do best, sell! You will also spend time with other departments, in a rotation, to give you a full understanding of the business and the tools needed to be a successful seller. At the end of the nine to twelve month program, it is expected that the Sales Associate will be ready to become a full-time, experienced Account Executive. The expectation is that you will become a successful CBS Radio Account Executive. You must understand that your training will require a great deal of hard work and self motivation and that during the program, you will be in a probationary period. If you successfully complete the CBS Radio Sales Associate Program, you will be moved into an Account Executive position with CBS Radio.

REQUIREMENTS:
The Sales Associate is an entry level position. Successful candidates will meet the following requirements: · College degree or equivalent experience in the industry preferred; · Great written and interpersonal skills are required; · Must be a self-starter and an independent worker; · Must have basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); · Must have a valid driver license and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance. Additionally, we look for students who have demonstrated the following qualities in their academic, extra-curricular and work experiences: · Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; · Polish, poise and determination; · The ability to effectively utilize research in presentations; · The aptitude to cold call resulting in face-to-face appointments; · A high-degree of time-management and organizational skills; · The ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and stress; · Be comfortable and be able to present material to small groups; · The initiative and ability to manage one’s business with minimal supervision.
